East Palatka, FL

East Palatka is a Putnam County census-designated place on the east side of Palatka, where U.S. 17 and State Roads 20 and 100 meet the western end of State Road 207. The 2020 census counted 1,573 residents. The St. Johns River drains the area, and the road junction makes East Palatka a hinge between Palatka, the river corridor, and the wider Putnam County map. It belongs to the Palatka micropolitan area, so the county seat next door is part of the everyday regional geography.

Two distinctly local destinations give East Palatka its own rhythm. The Palatka State Farmers Market puts produce and agriculture in public view, while the Putnam County Fairgrounds turn that same farm connection into an annual event with livestock, exhibits, competitions, and 4-H and FFA projects. The county fair began in downtown Palatka in 1950 before moving into the East Palatka setting.
