East Quogue, NY

East Quogue is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Southampton on Long Island's South Fork. It was settled in 1673 and was originally known as Fourth Neck, a name that hints at the older geography of bays, necks, and coastal land divisions. East Quogue is quieter than the better-known Hamptons villages, but it shares the same east-end mix of water access, older homes, seasonal visitors, and year-round residents. It feels coastal and understated, with Shinnecock Bay close by.
