East Rochester is a coterminous town and village in Monroe County, New York, operating southeast of the city of Rochester. Originally incorporated in 1897 as the village of Despatch and designed as a planned community around the New York Central Railroad mainline, the neighborhood of approximately 6,218 is served by the East Rochester Union Free School District.
