East Vineland, NJ

East Vineland is a census-designated place in Atlantic County's Buena Vista Township, on the township's western side near the Cumberland County line. The 2020 census counted 925 residents. Its setting is shaped by working farmland: Buena Vista identifies East Vineland alongside Richland and Milmay as one of the township's main agricultural areas, with tomatoes, corn, peppers, specialty vegetables, and greenhouse plants in the wider landscape. The place also sits at a boundary in the Pinelands map; land west of Union Road is the township's one section outside the reserve.

That farm pattern has deep roots. Italian immigrants settled in East Vineland in the 1870s, and family farms from that period continue in the region. St. Mary's Regional School is in East Vineland, while Buena Regional School District serves the surrounding township and neighboring communities. Roads lead toward Vineland, Buena, Richland, and the rest of western Atlantic County, but East Vineland's character remains tied to fields, sandy soil, and the thin line where agricultural land meets the Pinelands.
