Edenton, NC

Set right on Edenton Bay along the northern edge of the Albemarle Sound, Edenton is a quiet coastal town with a population of around 4,500. It is often called one of the prettiest small towns in the South, thanks to its deep colonial roots and preserved 18th-century architecture. As North Carolina's first colonial capital and the home of the historic 1774 Edenton Tea Party, the town wears its history proudly while maintaining a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere for newcomers.
