Edgewood, PA (CDP)

Edgewood is a census-designated place in Coal Township, immediately west of Shamokin, in Northumberland County's anthracite country. It is not an incorporated borough or city; the municipal address is Coal Township, while the daily school map runs through the Shamokin Area School District. That distinction matters because Edgewood's story is tied to the larger Shamokin–Coal Township landscape rather than a separate town hall or business district. Edgewood Park is the strongest local hook, though the park itself belongs to the area's past.
