About El Capitan
El Capitan is a census-designated place in Gila County, Arizona, located approximately thirteen miles south of the city of Globe in the rugged mountain terrain of central Arizona. With a population of 37 at the 2010 census, the small community sits in the Salt River watershed region, an area of desert mountains and river canyons. The community is one of several rural CDPs in the greater Globe area.
