El Dorado Springs is the largest city in Cedar County, Missouri, and its whole personality starts with the spring in the middle of town. The 2020 census counted 3,493 residents. The city grew around the water in 1881, when Nathaniel and Waldo Cruce tried to turn the mineral spring into a draw. Today, Spring Park still has the basin, bandstand, fish pond, picnic shelters, and the old Community Building, so the original town plan remains easy to spot.
