About Elburn

Elburn is a village in Kane County, Illinois, situated in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. Settled in 1834 by early pioneer William Lance, the community of approximately 6,400 grew around a stagecoach inn called the Halfway House, operated by Henry Warne at the midpoint between Oregon, Illinois, and Chicago. Adjacent to Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles, Elburn is served by Central Community Unit School District 301.
