About Elgin

Elgin is an incorporated town in Kershaw and Richland counties, South Carolina, operating twenty miles northeast of Columbia. Established in 1898 as Blaney and renamed in 1962 for the Elgin National Watch Company, the suburban community of approximately 2,080 is served by the Kershaw County School District for education locally.
