About Ellenville

Ellenville is a historic village in the town of Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York, situated along the Shawangunk Scenic Byway. Originally called Socconessing by the Esopus Munsee Lenape and known as a hub for major hang-gliding schools along Sandburg Creek, the community of approximately 4,211 is served by the Ellenville Central School District for education.
