Emily, MN

Emily is a Crow Wing County city named for nearby Emily Lake and platted in 1905. The city's history sits at the meeting point of lake country, logging, and rice harvesting, with archaeological finds pointing to Native American dwellings in the area before later settlement. Minnesota State Highway 6 and Crow Wing County Road 1 are the main routes through town, while the surrounding city boundaries include a large amount of water. Emily is one of those north-central Minnesota places where the lake supplies the name and the older working landscape still gives the map its shape.
