Emison, IN

Emison is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Busseron Township, Knox County, Indiana. The 2020 census counted 145 residents. Emison was laid out in 1867 for Samuel A. The Emison post office was discontinued in 1994. Emison is in the North Knox School Corporation. That mix gives Emison a clear local shape within Indiana, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. Emison is located in northwestern Knox County. U.S. Routes 41 and 150, a four-lane highway, passes through the east side of the community, leading south 10 miles to Vincennes, the county seat, and north 48 miles to Terre Haute.
