Every late spring, Emporia takes center stage in the cycling world as thousands of riders gather for UNBOUND Gravel, a world-renowned endurance race across the rolling Flint Hills. During race week, Commercial Street transforms into a massive festival packed with food vendors, gear expos, and cheering crowds welcoming cyclists across the finish line. Conveniently situated where Interstate 35, U.S. Route 50, and the Kansas Turnpike converge, the city is easy to navigate and well connected to the rest of the state. For the rest of the year, Commercial Street serves as the relaxed heart of the community, lined with local coffee shops, cozy diners, boutiques, and hometown breweries.
