Eureka Mill, SC

Eureka Mill is a Chester County census-designated place of 1,420 people at the 2020 census, on the northeastern side of the city of Chester. It is a suburban edge community, with the J.A. Cochran Bypass looping through and U.S. 72/121 carrying traffic northeast toward the wider county. South Carolina Highway 9 forms the southern edge, so the local map is shaped by roads around Chester more than a single compact downtown.

Chester is the county seat and the place for the courthouse, shops, and larger services; Eureka Mill is the residential and highway-facing piece just beyond it. The name preserves a mill-town flavor, but today's useful landmarks are the bypass, the 72/121 corridor, neighborhoods, and the routes into Chester. It is the kind of CDP that can feel like part of a city while remaining its own Census place, with daily life spread across the edge between town and county. Churches, subdivisions, and older homes blur into the Chester edge, but the highway signs still give Eureka Mill a name of its own.
