About Evaro
Evaro is a Missoula County CDP at the southern tip of the Flathead Indian Reservation, where U.S. 93 climbs Evaro Hill out of the Missoula Valley and opens toward the Mission Valley. The highway is the community's main landmark, but the schoolhouse story is just as important: Evaro organized a public school district in 1902 that served Native and non-Native children on either side of the reservation boundary. Today almost all of Evaro falls in the Arlee school districts, with a small section in Frenchtown's K-12 system. Finley Creek drains north from the community toward the Jocko River. Evaro is a pass-through place with a real boundary, highway, and school history underneath it.
