Eveleth, MN

Eveleth is one of the Mesabi Range's Quad Cities, with Virginia, Gilbert, and Mountain Iron nearby and U.S. 53 and Minnesota 37 running through the city. The community grew around the Adams-Spruce Mine and was incorporated at its present site in 1902, tying its street map to the Iron Range's timber and ore history. Hockey is the other major thread: the United States Hockey Hall of Fame Museum is here, along with the world's largest free-standing hockey stick and puck. Those landmarks sit inside a small city whose regional setting is still read through roads, mines, and rinks.
