Fairburn, GA

Fairburn got its start in the 1850s as a classic railroad stop, and you can still feel that heritage today. Downtown centers along Broad Street, where historic brick storefronts and local businesses line the active train tracks. It has a relaxed, small-town atmosphere anchored by city offices, casual local eateries, and a Georgia Military College campus that brings a steady mix of students and locals through the center of town.

Beyond the historic core, Fairburn offers practical convenience for commuters and growing families. Located right along Interstate 85 in south Fulton County, the city puts residents about twenty miles from downtown Atlanta and just a short drive from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. That highway corridor has become a major regional employment hub, while the surrounding roads branch out into quiet, newer subdivisions that offer more home for your money compared to neighborhoods closer to the city.

Local events give the area a welcoming feel throughout the year. Broad Street fills up during the warmer months for Third Friday gatherings with food trucks and live music, followed by the annual Fairburn Fall Festival in October. The town is also known across the region for hosting the Georgia Renaissance Festival, which takes over its wooded festival grounds off the interstate every spring. It is an easygoing suburban spot that blends quiet rail-town roots with quick connections across the Atlanta metro.
