About Fairfax

Fairfax is a Hamilton County village east of Cincinnati, tucked between Cincinnati neighborhoods and the villages of Mariemont and Terrace Park. The 2020 census counted 1,760 residents. State Route 50, known locally as Columbia Parkway and Wooster Pike, is the main route through the village, with I-71 and Red Bank Road providing other approaches. Little Duck Creek runs through Fairfax and divides the older local map into what residents call Upper Fairfax and Lower Fairfax. Fairfax maintains its own police, streets, parks, and recreation operations, and Little Miami Joint Fire District Station 66 sits on Wooster Pike.

Mariemont City School District serves the village, with Mariemont Junior High on Southern Avenue. Frisch's Mainliner and the Ferris Memorial Building add recognizable stops along the main road, while village events fill the parks through the year. Fairfax's local scoop is a compact village with its own municipal routines and school connection inside a dense Cincinnati metro setting, with a creek running right through the middle of it.
