Fairforest, SC

Sitting just west of downtown Spartanburg, Fairforest is a quiet, leafy community with deep Upstate roots. Local lore says it got its name when an early settler looked out across the rolling, wooded landscape and simply declared it a "fair forest." The area has plenty of history, even serving as a rare Loyalist stronghold during the Revolutionary War, but today it functions as a peaceful residential pocket tucked comfortably beside neighboring Arcadia and Saxon.

For newcomers, Fairforest offers a relaxed suburban feel with an easy drive into Spartanburg for work, dining, and shopping. Families are often drawn to the area for Spartanburg County School District Six, with Fairforest Elementary and Fairforest Middle anchoring the local community. Between the quiet residential streets, green patches along Fairforest Creek, and convenient access to major roads, it makes a comfortable and practical home base on the west side of the county.
