About Spartanburg

Spartanburg is the county seat of Spartanburg County and one of the main cities of South Carolina's Upstate. Known as Sparkle City and historically as Hub City, it grew around railroad lines and a Revolutionary War-era local militia name. Spartanburg has a real college-town layer, with Wofford College, Converse University, Spartanburg Community College, and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in the area. It is also home to Denny's headquarters, Milliken's research presence, and the Daniel Morgan Trail System.
