Fairmount Heights, MD

Fairmount Heights is a small, quiet town in Prince George's County, sitting right on the eastern border of Washington, D.C. Home to around 1,500 residents, the neighborhood offers a relaxed, small-town pace just minutes from the city. The area has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s, when Black landowners, builders, and civic leaders came together to develop an independent community with its own streets, schools, and local services.

Today, much of the town is recognized as a historic district, known for its character-rich older homes, spacious yards, and active neighborhood pride. Families are zoned for Prince George's County Public Schools, and residents benefit from a convenient location close to local parks, community centers, and easy transit routes into downtown D.C.
