About Fancy Farm

Fancy Farm is a small, close-knit community in western Kentucky’s Graves County, located about ten miles northwest of Mayfield. Home to around 400 residents, it offers quiet country living surrounded by rolling farmland. The area was settled by Catholic families in the 1820s and grew around St. Jerome Church, which still serves as the cultural anchor for the neighborhood.

Despite its modest size, Fancy Farm is known statewide for hosting the St. Jerome Picnic each August. The town got its name in the 1840s when a post office inspector was impressed by a well-kept local homestead, and that same neighborly pride makes it a welcoming spot for anyone looking for peaceful rural roots.
