About Farmingville

Farmingville is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Brookhaven on Long Island. Early settlement began in the late 18th century, when the area was known by names such as Bald Hills and Mooney Ponds. The Bald Hill Cultural Center and outdoor amphitheater give the community a regional event space, while the rest of Farmingville is largely residential and suburban. Like many Suffolk County hamlets, it is shaped by town government, school districts, roads, and a strong Long Island commuter pattern.
