About Fawn Lake Forest
Fawn Lake Forest is a Pike County census-designated place in Lackawaxen Township, north of Pennsylvania Route 590 near the New York line. It began in 1969 as a planned residential community created by the American Central Corporation; a steering committee formed in 1972, and the property owners association elected its first board the following year. That origin still matters because Fawn Lake Forest is organized around an association and shared facilities instead of a traditional borough or village center. The lakes are the center of neighborhood life.
The name is literal on the ground: Fawn Lake is a private 146-acre lake, and Westcolang Lake is shared with nearby communities. The Fawn Bay Center overlooks Fawn Lake; Cove Oaks Park faces Westcolang Lake with a beach, outdoor pool, boat launches, courts, and playgrounds. Wallenpaupack Area School District serves the CDP. Fawn Lake Forest is a Pocono lake community whose daily landmarks are water, clubhouse, association events, and the Route 590 corridor, with Hawley handling nearby town connections.
