Faxon, PA

Faxon is a Loyalsock Township census-designated place pressed between Williamsport and the rest of the township in Lycoming County. It is not a separate borough or city; the community’s boundaries sit between Four Mile Drive, Miller Run, Kenmar, and Interstate 180. That makes roads the main local reference points, with I-180 carrying the regional traffic and Williamsport providing the nearby urban center. Faxon’s place-name has also had a census history, since an earlier Faxon CDP in the county lost that designation before the current listing.

Township offices, the Loyalsock Township School District, and the recreation system serve Faxon residents. The township maintains playground parks, a nature park, dog park, portions of the Susquehanna Bikeway and Miller’s Run Greenway, and a seasonal community pool. School campuses sit on the Williamsport and Montoursville sides of the township, so the community’s daily geography spreads beyond one village center.
