Settled in the 1860s along Warm Creek, Fayette started out as a small farming community in southern Sanpete County. Pioneer families originally chose the spot for its steady water supply and open ground, later renaming the settlement after Fayette, New York. Tucked just northwest of Gunnison, the town has preserved that quiet, rural feel through more than a century of ranching and farming.

Today, Fayette offers wide-open valley views, quiet streets, and a very relaxed pace. Warm Creek still winds past family pastures and homesteads, keeping the town green and rooted in its agricultural heritage.
