About Federalsburg

Federalsburg is a Caroline County town on Marshy Hope Creek, with the waterway running right through the local story. The 2020 census counted 2,833 residents. The town was incorporated in 1823, and the name is tied to a Federalist gathering in 1812, though older accounts give a different explanation. Federal Park later gave Federalsburg a baseball chapter, including the Federalsburg A's. Colonel Richardson High School serves the local school map. The creek is part of the town's street-level geography, not just a line on a map.

Marshy Hope Creek has always been both a road and a headache. Flooding reshaped the channel and the town's riverfront, while restoration work is bringing back wetland edges and a more natural creek corridor. Marshy Hope Marina Park adds a spot to get near the water, and the Eastern Shore landscape opens out in every direction. Federalsburg is a small Maryland creek town with baseball memories, old Main Street buildings, and a waterway that still sets the pace.
