About Fellsburg

Fellsburg is a Rostraver Township CDP on the Westmoreland County side of the Monongahela Valley, with Fells Church looking over the Monongahela and Youghiogheny valleys. The old church is more than a landmark: in 1989, when Lebanon School was torn down, the township, Scouts, and Lions Club moved the library into the church by hand. The library later expanded into the former school rooms downstairs before moving to its present building in 2007. That gives Fellsburg a useful local clue - its story is tied to places that changed buildings without losing their place. It is a hillside crossroads above two big river valleys, with the church still doing the orienting.
