Ferguson, KY

Ferguson got its start just south of Somerset as a classic railroad community. In the early 1900s, the Cincinnati Southern Railroad built its locomotive repair shops here, laying out the neighborhood streets and building homes and a school for the rail workers. For decades, the rail yard was the center of town and employed generations of local families. Even after train technology shifted and the shops eventually closed, that close-knit heritage stayed rooted in the community.
