As one of the oldest communities in St. Charles County, Flint Hill traces its roots back to 1836. Settlers from Virginia founded the town at the intersection of Mexico and Salt River roads, naming it after their hometown back east. In its early days, it quickly grew into a lively crossroads anchored by tobacco farming, local shops, and a busy stagecoach stop.
