Forney, TX

Forney has transformed from a quiet railroad stop into one of the fastest-growing suburbs on the eastern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Over the past five years, the local population has surged past 40,000 as newcomers seek out newer subdivisions and larger lots in Kaufman County. While the community traces its roots back to late-nineteenth-century farming and the Texas and Pacific Railway, modern Forney is centered around expanding master-planned neighborhoods, new schools, and commercial centers, all anchored by a historic downtown that preserves its vintage Texas charm.

Most daily conveniences cluster along U.S. Highway 80, FM 548, and FM 1641, which serve as the primary corridors connecting residential pockets with grocery stores, big-box retailers, and casual dining spots. Rapid growth has led the city to invest heavily in expanded water infrastructure, widened roads, and upgraded municipal services to keep pace with demand. While peak-hour traffic and road construction are familiar sights for locals, these continuous upgrades are steadily improving travel times throughout the growing northern and southern sections of the city.
