About Fort Gibson
Fort Gibson is a town in Muskogee and Cherokee counties, Oklahoma, situated along the Grand River. Established in 1824 by Colonel Matthew Arbuckle as a military garrison near the terminus of the Trail of Tears, the historic community of approximately 3,808 is served by the Fort Gibson Public Schools district locally.
