About Muskogee
Muskogee is an eastern Oklahoma city with deep river-valley and crossroads history. French fur traders are believed to have established a temporary village near the future city in 1806, and Muskogee later became an important regional center. It has some memorable local landmarks, including Honor Heights Park, a World War I memorial park, and the Castle of Muskogee. The city also had minor league baseball for much of the early 20th century, giving it a layered civic history beyond its size.
