About Fort Lupton

Fort Lupton is a southern Weld County city in Colorado's South Platte Valley. It is named for Lieutenant Lancaster Lupton, who built a trading post on Adobe Creek in 1838, and South Platte Valley Historical Park keeps that frontier history visible. The city is served by Weld County School District RE-8 and sits in a landscape of farms, oil and gas activity, highways, and Front Range growth. Fort Lupton feels historic and workmanlike, with Denver's expansion approaching from the south.
