About Freeport

Freeport is a growing city in Walton County, Florida, situated near the Choctawhatchee Bay. Established around 1830 and named for its historic fee-free dock at the confluence of Four Mile and Lafayette creeks, the community of approximately 6,700 expanded with the master-planned Hammock Bay development. Traversed by U.S. Route 331, the city is served by the Walton County School District.
