Fryeburg, ME

Fryeburg sits along the Maine-New Hampshire border, framed by the winding Saco River and the White Mountains just to the west. The compact village center brings together historic homes, local businesses, and Fryeburg Academy, which gives the town an active, school-centered feel during the academic year. Moving outward from Main Street, the landscape quickly opens into quiet residential roads, farm fields, and dense woods. Because North Conway and the rest of the Mount Washington Valley are only minutes away, residents also get the benefit of nearby shopping, dining, and amenities across the state line.

Early October is especially lively when the historic Fryeburg Fair fills the fairgrounds with food, rides, and agricultural exhibits. For the rest of the year, Fryeburg returns to a quiet, close-knit rhythm that makes it an appealing spot for classic New England small-town living.
