Fuller Acres, CA

Fuller Acres is a census-designated place in Kern County, California, in the agricultural and industrial belt east of Bakersfield. The 2020 census counted 917 residents. The community occupies less than a square mile, with homes and local streets pressed into the broad Kern County landscape. Bakersfield supplies the nearby regional services, while the roads around Fuller Acres connect residents to farms, warehouses, and the larger southern San Joaquin Valley. Its streets sit close to the county’s main routes.

Fuller Acres was formerly known as Hilltop, and its present name sits on a community with a distinctly local scale. In 2025, Kern County opened its first pocket park here after a community-led process that included choosing the site and shaping the design. That small park gives Fuller Acres a shared public place inside a dense unincorporated settlement. The community remains compact and close to Bakersfield, with local streets, a new park, and the valley’s working landscape all part of its everyday map.
