Fyffe, AL

Fyffe is a DeKalb County town on Sand Mountain, founded in the 1880s and incorporated in 1956. State Route 75 runs through the ridge-top community, linking it with the farms and towns of northeast Alabama. The elevation gives Fyffe a clear geographic character: its streets and school grounds sit above the surrounding valleys, within the larger Sand Mountain landscape and away from the county's lowland floor.

Fyffe is best known for the UFO Day Festival, an annual August event that grew from reports made by more than fifty people during sightings in February 1989.
