Garden City, CO

Garden City is a tiny community in Weld County with around 250 residents, tucked directly between Greeley and Evans. The town owes its start to Greeley’s prohibition era. When Greeley voted to go dry in 1935, locals set up a new settlement just past the southern city line to keep selling alcohol legally. By 1938, Garden City officially incorporated, quickly becoming the favorite neighborhood spot to grab a drink, dance, and unwind.

Today, Garden City functions like a distinct pocket neighborhood within the larger metro area, sitting right next to the University of Northern Colorado campus. Eighth Avenue serves as the main commercial strip, lined with local shops, dispensaries, and small businesses.
