Garden City is a census-designated place in Horry County, South Carolina, situated on the Atlantic coast directly south of Surfside Beach. Known also as Garden City Beach, the resort community of approximately 11,600 features a rebuilt pier stretching approximately 668 feet over the ocean, offering a bar and live music during the tourist season. The Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade is an annual local tradition, and public education is provided by Horry County Schools.
