About Garner

Garner is a Parker County CDP on Farm to Market Road 113 northwest of Weatherford, with a townsite that moved a short distance from its first beginning. The original settlement was called Trappe Springs and was founded by a small group of families in the 1850s. The current community was settled in the 1880s, about half a mile west, and took the Garner name from a local gin operator. That gives the place a two-site story: springs first, then the town that stayed. Garner is a north Texas community whose name marks the second chapter.
