Genoa is a city in DeKalb County, Illinois, situated along the historic Galena-Chicago stagecoach route. Settled in 1836 by Revolutionary War veteran Thomas Madison and named after a town in New York, the community of approximately 5,492 is served by the Genoa-Kingston School District for public primary and secondary education.
