Genoa is a historic unincorporated town and census-designated place in Douglas County, Nevada, situated in the Carson River Valley. Established in 1851 as the first permanent settlement in the Nevada Territory and home to the state's oldest operating bar, the community of approximately 1,284 is served by the Douglas County School District for public primary and secondary education.
