Gering is a city and the county seat of Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, situated at the base of Scotts Bluff National Monument. Founded in 1887 and hosting the Legacy of the Plains Museum, the community of approximately 8,550 is served by the Gering Public Schools district for primary and secondary education.
