Glen Ridge, NJ

Glen Ridge is a small Essex County borough on the east side of First Mountain, between Montclair, Bloomfield, East Orange, and Orange. Its roots tie back to the larger Newark-area settlement history, including land purchased from the Lenni Lenape in the 1600s. Today Glen Ridge is known for gaslit streets, historic homes, schools, and a residential residential feel. It is close to New York City by train, but its scale is more village-like than urban.
