About Glenwood City
Glenwood City is a St. Croix County city that started as a forest clearing and grew quickly once the railroad and lumber mills arrived in the late 1880s. When the big timber was gone, the surrounding country shifted toward farming, and the city kept its role as a county gathering point. The St. Croix County Fair still sets up here each summer, while the Glenwood Area Historical Society keeps the logging-camp beginning in view. Glenwood City is western Wisconsin in a woods-to-farm story, with Tiffany Creek and Highways 128 and 170 filling out the map.
