Glezen, IN

Glezen is a quiet rural community tucked into Pike County's Patoka Township, just south of Petersburg. Originally founded in the 1850s under the name Hosmer, the town grew up along the historic Wabash and Erie Canal before expanding into a railroad and coal mining hub later in the century. It was eventually renamed Glezen in honor of Mary Glezen, a businesswoman from nearby Petersburg who regularly traveled out to teach Sunday school for local families.

Today, the bustling mills and train tracks have given way to peaceful countryside, open farmland, and quiet back roads. Life here moves at a relaxed pace, with the Patoka River and surrounding woods offering great spots for fishing and enjoying the outdoors. It provides plenty of room to spread out in a close-knit rural setting, while keeping you within an easy drive of everyday conveniences in town.
