About Globe

Globe is a city and the county seat of Gila County, Arizona, situated in the valley of Pinal Creek. Founded in 1875 following the discovery of a unique globe-shaped silver nugget, the town became a prominent mining settlement. Just south of the city lies Besh-Ba-Gowah, a historic Salado archaeological site occupied from 1225 to 1400. Today the community is known for its historic downtown district listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
