Goldville was born in the 1840s during Alabama's brief gold rush, quickly drawing thousands of miners, saloons, and supply shops to Tallapoosa County. When the gold dried up and prospectors packed up for California, the bustling camp settled into the sleepy country town it is today. Modern Goldville is a tiny, peaceful place with fewer than a hundred residents. Living here means enjoying starry skies, quiet back roads, and plenty of elbow room, while larger hubs like Alexander City and Lake Martin offer easy access to groceries, dining, and weekend outings.
